Product Overview

AdBlue® 20L is a high-purity Diesel Exhaust Fluid developed for diesel vehicles and machinery fitted with Selective Catalytic Reduction exhaust after-treatment systems.

Formulated as AUS 32, the product contains a nominal concentration of 32.5% high-purity automotive-grade urea and 67.5% demineralised water.

The 20-litre container provides a practical and economical refill quantity for commercial vehicles, workshops, transport operators, farms, construction businesses and fleet customers.

AdBlue® is stored in a dedicated reservoir separate from the diesel fuel tank. During operation, the SCR system injects a measured quantity into the exhaust stream to assist in converting nitrogen oxides primarily into nitrogen and water.

AdBlue® 20L is supplied ready to use and must not be diluted, blended or mixed with diesel, coolant, lubricating oil, tap water or additives.

Ready to Use

The fluid is supplied at the correct AUS 32 concentration and is ready to fill into the dedicated Diesel Exhaust Fluid reservoir.

No dilution or additives are required. Adding tap water, antifreeze or another substance can alter the concentration and contaminate the fluid.

Practical 20-Litre Container

The 20-litre pack is suitable for customers who require more volume than a passenger-vehicle refill but do not need a 200-litre drum or 1000-litre IBC.

It provides a practical quantity for workshops, fleet operators, farmers, tradespeople, truck drivers and owners of commercial vehicles.

The container can be kept in a workshop, maintenance area, fleet depot or service vehicle where regular top-ups are required.

Supports SCR Emission Control

The vehicle automatically injects AdBlue® into the exhaust stream according to engine load, exhaust temperature and operating conditions.

The resulting chemical process assists in converting nitrogen oxides primarily into nitrogen and water.

Helps Reduce Operational Downtime

SCR-equipped vehicles generally display a warning when the Diesel Exhaust Fluid level becomes low.

If the warning is ignored, the vehicle may reduce engine performance, limit operation or prevent restarting after the engine has been switched off.

Maintaining a 20-litre supply allows operators to respond promptly to warnings and refill vehicles before restrictions occur.

Not every diesel engine requires Diesel Exhaust Fluid. Confirm the vehicle or equipment requirements using the owner’s manual, filler-cap information or manufacturer’s service instructions.

How AdBlue® Works

Diesel engines can generate nitrogen oxides during combustion. Selective Catalytic Reduction systems are designed to reduce these emissions after combustion has taken place.

AdBlue® is stored separately from diesel fuel. During operation, the vehicle’s electronic control system injects a measured quantity into the hot exhaust stream before the SCR catalyst.

The exhaust heat converts the aqueous urea solution into ammonia. Inside the catalyst, the ammonia reacts with nitrogen oxides and converts them primarily into nitrogen and water.

The dosing rate is managed automatically according to engine load, temperature, driving conditions, duty cycle and manufacturer calibration.

Commercial vehicles and machinery may consume more fluid than passenger vehicles because they operate under higher loads or for longer periods.

AdBlue® is not a fuel additive, engine lubricant, injector cleaner or diesel conditioner. Its function is limited to the SCR exhaust after-treatment system.

Typical Physical Properties

The figures shown are typical and may vary within the permitted product specification. Batch-specific information should be confirmed using the applicable Certificate of Analysis where required.

Handling and Storage Advice

A full 20-litre container weighs approximately 23.4 kg; therefore, an assisted two-person lift or suitable mechanical handling aid is required when lifting, carrying or positioning the container.

Store the container upright in a clean, dry and well-ventilated location.

Keep it securely closed and protect it from direct sunlight, excessive heat, dust, rain and workshop contamination.

Where practical, store the product below 25°C and follow the applicable batch and expiry information.

Use only clean pumps, spouts, funnels and dispensing equipment suitable for AUS 32.

Equipment previously exposed to diesel, lubricating oil, coolant or other chemicals must not be used unless professionally cleaned and confirmed compatible.

Even small quantities of diesel, oil, grease, coolant, tap water, dust, rust or incompatible metals can affect product quality.

AdBlue® begins to freeze at approximately –11°C. Freezing does not normally make uncontaminated fluid unusable. Allow frozen product to thaw completely and naturally before use.

Do not add water, antifreeze or another substance to prevent freezing or accelerate thawing.

A full 20-litre container weighs more than 20 kilograms. Use appropriate manual-handling techniques and obtain assistance where required.

Avoid eye contact and prolonged skin contact. Wear suitable gloves and eye protection where splashing may occur.

Spilled fluid can create a slippery surface. Clean spills promptly and prevent discharge into drains, soil, stormwater systems or waterways.

Directions for Use

Confirm that the vehicle requires Diesel Exhaust Fluid meeting ISO 22241.

Locate the dedicated filler, commonly identified by a blue cap. Its position may vary between vehicle manufacturers.

Switch off the engine and follow the manufacturer’s filling procedure.

Clean the area around the filler before opening it. Use a clean spout, pump or funnel suitable for AUS 32.

Pour the required quantity into the dedicated reservoir without overfilling.

Secure the filler cap and clean any spillage.

Some vehicles may require the ignition to remain switched on briefly before the updated fluid level is recognised.

Important Warnings

AdBlue® is not diesel fuel and must never be added to the diesel tank.

Never add AdBlue® to:

• The diesel fuel tank
• The engine-oil system
• The cooling system
• The hydraulic system
• The transmission
• The windscreen-washer reservoir

Never add diesel, oil, coolant, tap water or additives to the dedicated Diesel Exhaust Fluid reservoir.

If AdBlue® is accidentally added to the diesel tank, do not start the engine. Contact a qualified repairer immediately.

If diesel or another fluid is added to the Diesel Exhaust Fluid reservoir, do not operate the vehicle until the system has been inspected and cleaned.

Packaging Information

AdBlue® 20L is supplied in a sealed container suitable for storage, transport and controlled manual filling.

Inspect the packaging before use. Do not use the product if the seal is broken, the container is damaged or the fluid appears cloudy, dirty or discoloured.

Retain the original product label, batch number and supporting documentation for identification and traceability.

Do not transfer the fluid into an unmarked or unsuitable container.
