Description

AdBlue® 200L Drum | Diesel Exhaust Fluid AUS 32

Product Overview

AdBlue® 200L Drum is a high-purity Diesel Exhaust Fluid developed for diesel vehicles and machinery fitted with Selective Catalytic Reduction exhaust after-treatment systems.

Formulated as AUS 32, the product contains a nominal concentration of 32.5% high-purity automotive-grade urea and 67.5% demineralised water. This carefully controlled formulation supports accurate SCR dosing and assists compatible diesel vehicles and equipment in reducing nitrogen oxide emissions.

The 200-litre drum provides an economical supply option for transport operators, commercial workshops, agricultural businesses, construction companies, industrial facilities and fleet operators with regular Diesel Exhaust Fluid requirements.

AdBlue® is stored in a dedicated reservoir separate from the diesel fuel tank. During vehicle operation, the SCR system automatically injects a measured quantity into the hot exhaust stream. The resulting chemical reaction converts nitrogen oxides primarily into nitrogen and water.

AdBlue® 200L is supplied ready to use. It must not be diluted, blended or mixed with diesel fuel, coolant, lubricating oil, tap water, antifreeze or additives.

Key Features and Benefits

High-Purity AUS 32 Formulation

AdBlue® is formulated using a nominal concentration of 32.5% high-purity automotive-grade urea combined with 67.5% demineralised water.

The controlled concentration is required for the correct chemical reaction within SCR exhaust after-treatment systems. It also supports accurate dosing by the vehicle’s pumps, injectors and electronic controls.

SCR systems incorporate sensitive pumps, injectors, dosing modules, sensors and catalysts. Contaminated, diluted or incorrectly formulated Diesel Exhaust Fluid may contribute to crystallisation, deposits, system warnings, dosing faults and premature component damage.

Meets ISO 22241 Requirements

AdBlue® 200L meets the applicable requirements of ISO 22241.

ISO 22241 establishes requirements covering:

  • Product quality and composition
  • Testing procedures
  • Handling and storage
  • Transportation requirements
  • Dispensing equipment
  • Refilling interfaces
  • Equipment compatibility
  • Product identification and traceability

Maintaining fluid quality after manufacture is essential. Contamination introduced during storage, handling or dispensing can affect product performance even when the original fluid met the required standard.

Economical 200-Litre Drum

The 200-litre drum is suitable for customers whose consumption exceeds individual 10-litre or 20-litre containers but does not justify storing a 1000-litre Intermediate Bulk Container.

It provides a practical bulk quantity for commercial workshops, transport depots, farms, construction sites and industrial facilities.

Purchasing in a drum may provide a lower cost per litre than smaller containers while reducing the number of individual packages that must be handled, stored and disposed of.

Ready to Dispense

AdBlue® 200L is supplied at the correct AUS 32 concentration and is ready to transfer into the vehicle or machine’s dedicated Diesel Exhaust Fluid reservoir.

No dilution, additives or other treatment are required. Adding water or another substance can alter the urea concentration and introduce damaging contaminants.

Suitable for Dedicated Drum Pumps

The 200-litre drum can be fitted with a compatible manual or electric dispensing pump, suction tube, delivery hose, flow meter and dispensing nozzle.

All dispensing components must be clean, manufactured from suitable materials and reserved exclusively for AUS 32 Diesel Exhaust Fluid.

Equipment previously used for diesel, lubricating oil, coolant or other chemicals may introduce contamination and must not be used unless professionally cleaned and confirmed suitable.

Supports SCR Emission Control

Selective Catalytic Reduction systems use AdBlue® to reduce nitrogen oxide emissions generated during diesel-engine operation.

The vehicle automatically controls the quantity injected into the exhaust according to engine load, exhaust temperature, operating conditions and manufacturer calibration.

The fluid supports a chemical reaction inside the SCR catalyst that converts nitrogen oxides primarily into nitrogen and water.

Suitable for Commercial Operations

AdBlue® 200L is suitable for businesses operating multiple SCR-equipped diesel vehicles or machines.

A central drum supply allows fluid-level inspections and top-ups to be included in routine servicing, fleet maintenance and equipment pre-start procedures.

The drum format is appropriate for customers requiring a dependable on-site supply while having limited space for larger bulk storage.

Helps Reduce Operational Downtime

SCR-equipped vehicles normally display a dashboard warning when the Diesel Exhaust Fluid level becomes low.

If the warning is ignored, the vehicle may reduce engine performance, restrict operation or prevent restarting after the engine has been switched off.

Maintaining a 200-litre supply on site allows operators to respond promptly to low-fluid warnings and refill vehicles before operating restrictions occur.

Suitable Applications

AdBlue® 200L is suitable for compatible SCR-equipped:

  • Diesel passenger vehicles
  • Four-wheel drives and SUVs
  • Commercial vans and diesel utes
  • Light commercial vehicles
  • Prime movers and heavy trucks
  • Buses and coaches
  • Agricultural tractors
  • Harvesting machinery
  • Construction equipment
  • Earthmoving machinery
  • Mining equipment
  • Forklifts and material-handling equipment
  • Waste-collection vehicles
  • Municipal and council fleets
  • Stationary diesel engines
  • SCR-equipped diesel generators
  • Commercial workshops
  • Transport depots
  • Fleet-maintenance facilities

Not every diesel engine requires Diesel Exhaust Fluid. Confirm the vehicle or equipment requirements using the owner’s manual, filler-cap information, service documentation or manufacturer’s instructions before filling.

How AdBlue® Works

Diesel engines can produce nitrogen oxides during combustion. Selective Catalytic Reduction technology is designed to reduce these emissions after combustion has occurred.

AdBlue® is stored in a separate reservoir and does not mix with diesel fuel. During vehicle operation, the electronic control system injects a measured quantity into the hot exhaust stream before the SCR catalyst.

The exhaust heat converts the aqueous urea solution into ammonia. Inside the SCR catalyst, the ammonia reacts with nitrogen oxides and converts them primarily into nitrogen and water.

The dosing process is managed automatically by the vehicle. Consumption varies according to engine design, load, exhaust temperature, operating conditions, duty cycle and manufacturer calibration.

Heavy commercial vehicles and machinery may consume larger quantities because they operate under higher loads or for extended periods. A 200-litre drum provides a practical supply for vehicles and equipment requiring frequent top-ups.

AdBlue® is not a fuel additive, engine lubricant, injector cleaner or diesel conditioner. Its function is limited to the SCR exhaust after-treatment system.

Handling and Storage Advice

Store the drum upright on a stable, level and load-rated surface in a clean, dry and well-ventilated location.

Keep the drum securely closed when not connected to dispensing equipment. Protect all openings, seals and fittings from dust, rain, workshop debris and other sources of contamination.

Protect the product from direct sunlight and prolonged exposure to elevated temperatures. Store the drum indoors or beneath suitable cover where practical.

Use only dedicated pumps, suction tubes, hoses, fittings, flow meters and nozzles suitable for AUS 32 Diesel Exhaust Fluid.

Equipment previously used for diesel, lubricating oil, coolant, chemicals or other fluids must not be used unless professionally cleaned and confirmed compatible.

Even small quantities of diesel, oil, grease, coolant, tap water, dust, rust or incompatible metals can affect product quality and damage sensitive SCR components.

AdBlue® begins to freeze at approximately –11°C. Freezing does not normally make uncontaminated product unusable. Allow frozen fluid to thaw completely and naturally before dispensing.

Do not add water, antifreeze or another substance to prevent freezing or accelerate thawing.

A full 200-litre drum contains approximately 218 kg of fluid and must not be manually lifted, carried or repositioned. A forklift, drum lifter, drum trolley, pallet jack or other appropriately rated mechanical handling equipment is required.

Do not roll, drop or impact the drum. Use trained personnel and suitable equipment whenever the drum is moved, loaded, unloaded or positioned.

Inspect the drum regularly for impact damage, corrosion, leaks, broken seals or signs of contamination. Isolate any damaged container until it has been appropriately assessed.

Avoid contact with the eyes and prolonged contact with the skin. Wear suitable gloves and eye protection when connecting dispensing equipment, changing fittings or cleaning spills.

Spilled fluid can create a slippery surface. Clean spills promptly and prevent uncontrolled discharge into drains, soil, stormwater systems or waterways.

Refer to the applicable Safety Data Sheet for complete handling, personal-protection, first-aid and disposal information.

Dispensing Instructions

Confirm that the vehicle or equipment requires Diesel Exhaust Fluid meeting ISO 22241.

Position the drum securely in its designated storage and dispensing area. Install a clean and compatible drum pump according to the equipment manufacturer’s instructions.

The complete dispensing system must be reserved exclusively for AUS 32 and clearly identified to prevent accidental use with diesel, oil or coolant.

Inspect the drum opening, pump, suction tube, seals and fittings before installation. Do not use dirty, damaged or incompatible equipment.

Open the drum only when the dispensing system is ready to be installed. Minimise exposure to the surrounding environment.

Locate the vehicle’s dedicated Diesel Exhaust Fluid filler, which is commonly identified by a blue cap. Switch off the engine before filling.

Dispense the required quantity without overfilling. A compatible flow meter and automatic shut-off nozzle can improve dispensing control and stock monitoring.

Return the nozzle to a clean holder after use. Keep the pump, delivery hose and nozzle protected from dust, rain and contamination.
