Product Description
Shell Omala S4 WE 220 is a high-performance fully synthetic industrial gear oil formulated using polyalkylene glycol (PAG) base fluids and advanced additives.
It is specifically designed for worm gear applications operating under severe conditions, delivering excellent lubrication performance, improved energy efficiency, long service life, and high resistance to micro-pitting.
Features and Benefits
Extended Oil Life
Outstanding oxidation and thermal stability helps extend drain intervals and maintain system cleanliness.
xcellent Wear Protection
High load-carrying capacity and resistance to micro-pitting improve gear and bearing life.
Energy Efficiency
Improves efficiency in worm gear systems, reducing operating temperatures and power consumption (up to ~15% vs mineral oils).
High Thermal Stability
Performs reliably under high load, wide temperature variations, and severe operating environments.
Applications
Shell Omala S4 WE 220 is recommended for:
- Enclosed industrial worm gear systems
- Heavy-duty gearboxes operating under severe loads and temperatures
- Systems with extended maintenance intervals
- Wind turbine yaw gears and inaccessible systems
- Bearings and components in circulating or splash lubrication systems
⚠️ Limitations:
- Not suitable for aluminium or aluminium alloy components
- Not compatible with mineral oils or most other synthetic lubricants (PAG-specific)
