Product Description
Marvell Easy Cut 111 is a low-to-medium-viscosity, inactive neat cutting oil developed for machining free-cutting steels and non-ferrous metals. Its ISO VG 22 viscosity provides a practical balance between lubricating-film strength, cooling, chip removal and circulation through machine-tool delivery systems.
The product is particularly suitable for machining brass, aluminium, copper and other compatible non-ferrous alloys where an active cutting oil could cause staining, discolouration or chemical attack. It may also be used for light-to-medium-duty machining of compatible free-cutting steels.
Marvell Easy Cut 111 is supplied as a neat or straight cutting oil. It is designed to be used undiluted and should not be mixed with water like a soluble, semi-synthetic or fully synthetic water-miscible metalworking fluid.
The term “inactive” describes the chemical activity of the cutting-oil additive system toward sensitive metals. It does not mean that the product contains no additives, is chemically inert or presents no handling requirements. An inactive cutting oil is formulated to provide lubrication without the aggressive chemical action associated with active sulphurised cutting oils.
This characteristic is especially important when machining yellow metals and other non-ferrous materials. Active sulphur additives can react with copper-containing alloys and may cause dark staining or surface discolouration. Marvell Easy Cut 111 is designed for applications where good machining performance and non-ferrous-metal compatibility are both required.
During metal cutting, friction and pressure develop between the cutting tool, workpiece and newly formed chip. If this contact is not adequately lubricated, excessive heat, tool wear, built-up edge and poor surface finish may result. Material names alone do not determine cutting-fluid suitability. Different grades of aluminium, brass, copper alloy and steel can respond differently to machining pressure, temperature and additive chemistry.
A machining trial is recommended before commencing high-volume production, particularly where component appearance, staining resistance, dimensional tolerance or surface finish is critical.
Marvell Easy Cut 111 is not intended as a water-soluble cutting fluid. Do not add water, emulsifiers or biocide unless specifically directed under an approved metalworking-fluid program.
The product is also not intended to replace hydraulic oil, slideway oil, spindle oil, quenching oil or general-purpose circulating oil. Although its viscosity may appear similar to some machine lubricants, its additive system and intended function are different.

Protection Between Machining Stages
The oil film remaining on freshly machined metal may provide temporary protection against moisture and handling during short periods between machining stages.
It should not automatically be relied upon as a long-term rust preventive. Finished components requiring storage, export packaging or prolonged corrosion protection may need cleaning followed by application of a dedicated rust-preventive product.

Handling & Storage Advice
Store Marvell Easy Cut 111 in its original, correctly labelled container. Keep the drum, pail or container securely closed when the product is not being transferred or used.
Store indoors in a cool, dry and well-ventilated area. Protect the product from direct sunlight, rain, excessive heat, ignition sources, sparks, welding operations and physical damage.
Do not allow water, coolant, hydraulic fluid, slideway oil, solvent, cleaning chemical, dust, swarf or used lubricant to enter the container.
Use clean and dedicated transfer pumps, hoses, funnels and dispensing equipment. Contaminated equipment can introduce water, abrasive particles or incompatible fluids that reduce machining performance.
Avoid prolonged or repeated skin contact. Suitable protective equipment may include oil-resistant gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses, depending on the method of application and workplace risk assessment.
Wash exposed skin thoroughly with soap and water after handling. Do not use petrol, kerosene, solvents, abrasive cleaners or contaminated workshop rags to remove oil from the skin.
Machining can generate oil mist or aerosol, particularly at high spindle speeds or where oil impacts rapidly moving components. Use suitable machine guarding, enclosure and local exhaust ventilation to control airborne mist.
Do not use compressed air to blow cutting oil from components or machinery where this could generate airborne mist. Use a safer cleaning or drainage method.
Clean spills promptly because cutting oil can create a serious slip hazard. Contain spilled product using suitable absorbent material and prevent it from entering drains, stormwater systems, soil or waterways.
Used cutting oil may contain fine metal particles, wear debris and contaminants accumulated during service. Collect it in an appropriate labelled container and arrange disposal or recycling through an authorised provider.

Directions for Use
Marvell Easy Cut 111 is designed to be used neat. Do not mix it with water.
Before initial filling, clean the machine sump, pipes, filters and delivery system where necessary. Remove water, sludge, chips and incompatible residue from the previous cutting fluid.
Where changing from a water-miscible coolant, ensure that the system is properly drained and dried. Residual water can cause contamination, corrosion and changes in product performance.
Fill the machine to the manufacturer’s recommended level. Use a clean transfer pump or dispensing system.
Direct the oil flow toward the cutting edge and tool–workpiece interface. The flow should be sufficient to lubricate the cutting zone, remove heat and flush chips away.
Monitor the machining operation during initial use. Check tool wear, surface finish, component dimensions, chip formation, oil temperature and oil delivery.
Adjust cutting speed, feed rate, depth of cut and fluid flow according to the workpiece material, tool manufacturer’s recommendations and production requirements.
Maintain filters, strainers, chip conveyors and settling systems. Remove accumulated swarf and fine particles before they circulate back into the machining zone.
Prevent contamination with tramp oil, water, solvent and cleaning fluid. Excessive contamination can alter viscosity, reduce lubrication and affect workpiece quality.
Check the sump level regularly and top up with clean Marvell Easy Cut 111 as required. Do not top up with another cutting oil unless compatibility has been confirmed.
Periodically inspect the oil for discolouration, unusual odour, sludge, water separation, excessive metal content or a significant change in viscosity. Investigate the cause of any abnormal condition.
