API SN and ILSAC GF-5 are primarily spark-ignition petrol-engine classifications. Marvell 10W-30 SN/GF-5 should therefore not be promoted as a universal diesel engine oil. A diesel engine may require an API C-category, ACEA diesel specification or Low-SAPS oil specifically designed for diesel particulate filters and other exhaust after-treatment systems.

Handling & Storage Advice
Store Marvell 10W-30 SN/GF-5 in its original, correctly labelled drum in a cool, dry and well-ventilated area. Protect the drum from direct sunlight, excessive heat, water, dust, rain and other sources of contamination.
Keep all drum openings, bungs, pumps and dispensing connections securely closed when not in use. Water, coolant, dirt, fuel, brake fluid, transmission fluid and used oil must not be allowed to enter the drum. Even a small quantity of foreign material can affect engine-oil performance or damage dispensing equipment.
Use a dedicated, clean oil pump and dispensing hose. Do not use equipment that has previously handled coolant, solvents, fuel, gear oil or other incompatible products unless it has been properly cleaned and verified as suitable.
Store the drum upright on a stable surface within an appropriate bunded area. Inspect it regularly for corrosion, leakage or damage. If outdoor storage cannot be avoided, the drum should be protected from weather and positioned to prevent water from collecting around the openings.

Directions for Use
Before dispensing Marvell 10W-30 SN/GF-5, confirm that the vehicle manufacturer permits SAE 10W-30 and API SN, ILSAC GF-5 or an earlier compatible petrol-engine category.
Use clean dispensing equipment and wipe the vehicle’s filling area before removing the oil cap. If completing a full service, drain the existing oil according to the manufacturer’s procedure and replace the oil filter with the correct part.
Add slightly less than the stated engine capacity, then check the dipstick or electronic oil-level system while the vehicle is on level ground. Add oil gradually until the correct level is reached. Do not overfill the engine.
Start the engine and allow the oil to circulate while checking for leakage around the filter, sump plug and associated components. Switch off the engine, allow the oil to settle and recheck the level. Top up if necessary.
