What is Diesel Particle filter (DPF) system?

DPF is a special filter located in the
exhaust to filter soot in the exhaust gas.There are various DPFs, including metal
fiber DPFs, silicon carbide DPFs, and cordierite DPFs, but the most common type
is cellular ceramic honeycomb filters. Most of the soot is caused by oil
burning in the engine chamber. This filter is washable, and the main problem
with it is its limited capacity to trap the soot.
