Description
Product Description
Castrol VECTON 15W-40 CK-4/E9 is an advanced heavy-duty diesel engine oil designed for high-speed 4-stroke diesel engines, heavy-duty trucks, buses, commercial vehicles, construction equipment, mining machinery, agricultural equipment, and mixed heavy-duty fleets. Its key applications include modern diesel engines equipped with EGR, DPF, DOC and/or SCR after-treatment systems, where the required diesel fuel sulfur level is up to 15 ppm for after-treatment compatibility. Castrol’s System Pro Technology™ is designed to control oxidation, deposits and harmful acids while maintaining viscosity under high shear, helping extend useful oil life under severe operating conditions.
Castrol VECTON 15W-40 CK-4/E9 is formulated to provide strong protection against wear and oil degradation in modern high-pressure, high-temperature diesel engines. Castrol states that the VECTON formulation can provide up to 45% extra performance reserve compared with relevant industry requirements, supporting longer useful oil life and potentially extended drain intervals when permitted by the engine manufacturer and supported by used-oil analysis.

Drain Interval
VECTON 15W-40 CK-4/E9 is engineered for longer useful oil life. However, oil drain intervals must always follow the engine manufacturer's specification. Castrol notes that extended drains may be possible through an appropriate Used Oil Analysis (UOA) program and consultation with its technical services team.
Storage Information
Store in the original sealed container in a clean, dry location away from direct sunlight, excessive heat and moisture. Keep the container tightly closed when not in use and prevent contamination with water, dirt, fuel and other lubricants.
Health & Safety
The Australian Castrol SDS identifies VECTON 15W-40 CK-4/E9 as not classified under the GHS classification criteria and states that no signal word or hazard statement is required for the unused product. Prolonged or repeated skin contact should nevertheless be avoided. Used engine oil can contain hazardous contaminants, so appropriate protective equipment and the latest SDS should be used wh
